Temple Heights Animal Hospital uses digital radiographs (x-rays) for diagnosing certain medical and surgical problems. Digital X-rays are safe and are performed routinely at our hospital. Pets can be x-rayed either being awake or anesthetized. The digital images are transmitted to the exam room for the owners to view almost immediately. We perform various types of diagnostic contrast studies to determine if certain pathological conditions exist. One very common use of x-rays is in evaluating hip dysplasia, arthritis, fractures, dislocations, skeletal abnormalities, tumors, etc.
